Acoustic Dry Walling
Babcock contacted us to assist with acoustic dry walling, acoustic door and window installation at Babcock in Nigel as part of their preparation for an expensive CNC installation.
Plans has already been drawn up for the required acoustic dry walling.
We had to adhere to their strict Health and Safety standards.
We firstly had to install a dual structure galvanized grid..
Secondly we had to install acoustic insulation and board the acoustic dry walling.
The structure was then boarded with 2 x 12mm boards each side.
Acoustic windows was then installed into the walls. A custom made roller door cladded with 0.5mm galvanized sheet and filled with acoustic reduction material and fitted with brush seals was fitted to the acoustic dry walling.
As can be seen the final product was not only functional but also rugged and perfectly suitable fr the industrial environment it was installed in.
The structure of the drywalls was created from galvanized floor track which was fixed to the floor with nail in screws, aluminium natural anodized wall channel fitted to the ceilings and walls where required and galvanized studs as per supplier recommendation. Corner sections done with galvanized angle and all secured with drywall screws. Aluminium wall channels was used where aluminium abutments was required.
It needs to be noted that accuracy when constructing the structure is of utmost importance. If the structure is poorly constructed the end product will be of poor visual quality.After the drywalling structure was completed 12.5mm Gypsum board cladding was used.
Joint was then fiber taped and two coats Rhinoglide applied. Once dry, the joints was sanded to a smooth finish in preparation for painting.
